Autism Day

On Friday April 27th, our school held Autism Day. Throughout the day we spoke to students about Autism. Younger children don't understand what Autism is. They thought that people with Autism have problems, but they didn't know the causes of it. They learned many things. The underclassmen didn't know that Autism is more likely in boys than girls. That there are more people living with Autism than cancer, AIDS and diabetes combined? That autism occurs in every 1 in 88 children. After 2 weeks of preparation for Autism Day we rewarded the student with a blue dress down day. After all our hard work I'm glad that Autism Day was successful. We're not done yet though. We will be meeting with our school Daisy troops in the upcoming weeks. Check back soon!
